Mountain Bikes in El Chaltén Viento a Favor

This is a unique place for its scenic beauty and natural environment.

The possibility of traveling in Mountain Bike, allows you to stop at each site to get the best picture or enjoy its fauna and flora, even in virgin state.

The return, descending gently towards the town of El Chaltén by the Valley of the Rio de las Vueltas and with the company of the Patagonian wind of friend, behind you: WIND FOR YOU !!

The Lago del Desierto is one of the last virgin corners of the Patagonian mountain range. Being able to travel the 36km to El Chaltén in Mountain Bikes can be an unforgettable experience.

We left by minibus in the morning, towards the beautiful lake with its crystal clear waters. Once there you can navigate or take some walks, such as: Trekking to the Huemul Glacier and its turquoise lagoon or more trekking to the base of the Vespignani Glacier, the most impressive in the area.

Then you have all day to enjoy the return, descending and with WIND TO FAVOR! Following the rapids of the Rio de las Vueltas.

Each corner is an excuse to stop and admire the beauties of the environment: waterfalls, lagoons, glaciers and the immense figure of the north face of Mount Fitz Roy, emerging over the Nothofagus forest.

A series of trails invite us to leave the Mountain Bikes to enjoy different trekkings:

Huemul Glacier Trail (Lgo.del Desierto) 1: 30hs round trip.

Laguna Azul Trail (Estancia Los Huemules) 2hs. Roundtrip.

Piedras Blancas Glacier Trail Path (Host El Pilar) 3hs. Roundtrip.

Navigation and trekking Mirador glacier Vespignani (3 hs.)

For people who do not want to complete the 36km bike ride to the town of El Chaltén, they have the option to stop at Camping Bonanza (25 km) where we will pick them up in the afternoon.

Desert Lake is one of the most and last virgin areas in the Patagonian Andes. Exploring the 36km between the lake and the town of El Chaltén, can be an unforgettable experience.

We leave from town early in the morning, to the beautiful lake with its crystal-clear water. Once there you can do a boat trip or go trekking in the area to the wonderful Huemul Glacier and its turquoise colored lake.

You have the whole day to make the bike ride, going back to town and following the rapids of "Rio de las Vueltas" with the wind in your back !!.

Each curve is an excuse to stop and admire the beauty of the surroundings: waterfall, lakes, glaciers and the huge shape of

Fitz Roy's north Face, emerging from the nothofagus woods.

Several trails invite you to leave your bike and make different hiking trips:

Trail to Huemul Glacier (Desert Lake) 1: 30hs roud trip.

Trail to Blue Lake (Los Huemules Park) 2 hours. round trip.

Trail to Lookout over Piedras Blancas Glascier 3 hs round trip.

For those who do not want to do the whole 36km biking trip to town, we offer the option to finish the ride at Camping Bonanza (21 km from Lago del Desierto) where we will pick you up in the afternoon.
