This tour includes, in Buenos Aires, a tour of the historic center and the south of the city, an immersion in the local culture and cuisine, hand in hand with a family that will welcome you at home and teach you how to cook empanadas and enjoy a "barbecue". And finally, the stay in a ranch in the Island of Delta, ideal to relax and make outdoor activities.

In the Perito Moreno Glacier, in addition to navigate the Argentino Lake and the view of the glaciers, we propose a half-day excursion to a typical estancia with equestrian demonstrations and a roast in the gaucho style.

We also suggest to rent a car to make the route from El Calafate to El Chaltén, and from Trelew to the Valdés Peninsula, so that you can carry out activities according to your family's tastes and discover at your own pace the culture, the landscapes, the flora and fauna of Patagonia.

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Buenos Aires and transfer to the hotel (Palermo)

Pass By: Palo Santo Hotel, Bonpland 2275, C1425FWC CABA, Argentina
After landing you will be transferred to an apartment in the neighborhood of Palermo. Your local guide will welcome you and suggestions to make the most of your neighborhood and the local cuisine with your family.

Free afternoon to explore Palermo and surroundings.

Recommendation: In the afternoon we suggest visiting: Bosques de Palermo - Japanese Garden - Botanical Garden - National Museum of Fine Arts - Museum of Decorative Art - Museum of Latin American Art of Buenos Aires (MALBA) - Recoleta Cultural Center - Recoleta Cemetery.

Day 2: Buenos Aires City Tour + Family Dinner with cooking class

Stop At: La Boca, Avda Almirante Brown, Buenos Aires Argentina
For this second day, your guide will take you to discover the hidden treasures of the city, historic places such as the Plaza de Mayo and the Cabildo, until you reach the neighborhood of La Boca, and its famous Caminito street, a true journey into the past where you can appreciate the old houses built by immigrants.

After strolling through the city, you will have the opportunity to experience the local cuisine. You will be receive by a local family and learn to cook typical foods: empanadas and argentine barbecue.

Day 3: Full day and outdoor activities in Delta Island

Stop At: Bonanza Deltaventura, tu estancia en el Delta, Rio Carapachay Km 13 Delta, Tigre 1648 Argentina
Pick up at the hotel and transfer by private car to Tigre city (1 hour approx.) You will take a boat for an hour out of the city to the Delta Island, to stay in a ranch and enjoy outdoor activities for the whole family: canoeing and kayaking on the river, bike rides and hikes to discover the nature place or they can rest in hammocks in Paraguay while they try the "mate" (traditional argentinian infusion based on yerba mate). In the evening, you will have a typical local dinner and spend the night in the ranch.

Day 4: Full day and outdoor activities in Delta Island

Stop At: Bonanza Deltaventura, tu estancia en el Delta, Rio Carapachay Km 13 Delta, Tigre 1648 Argentina
We suggest you to wake up early to watch the sunrise overlooking the river and enjoy another day full of activities for your family: swimming, paddling on the river, horseback riding or zip line are some of the options. In the afternoon, you will return by boat to the Puerto de Tigre to return to your hotel in Palermo.

Day 5: Welcome to the Patagonia: Flight to El Calafate and travel by car to El Chaltén

Stop At: Road to El Chalten, El Chalten Argentina
Transfer to the airport to take your flight to El Calafate. Upon arrival, you will pick up your rental car and leave for El Chaltén. After 3 hours of driving you will arrive at the town, and you will spend the night in a cottage.

Day 6: El Chaltén: Free day to explore the town and trekking

Pass By: Mirador del Torre, 5 km along the Cerro Torre Trail from El Chalten, El Chalten Argentina
Waking up between mountains and snowy peaks, that's waking up in El Chaltén. There are many walks or treks to do in this city and get a better view of Mount Fitz Roy and its wonders views.

Recommendation: Some simple and short walks are: Chorrillo del Salto (1 hs) - Mirador del Torre (3 hs) - Laguna Capri - (4 hs).

Day 7: El Chaltén: free day of trekking and return to El Calafate

Stop At: Laguna Torre, Parque Nacional Los Glaciares, El Chalten Argentina
Second day off for trekking and contemplate the landscapes of the area. At the end of the day, you will return to El Calafate to continue the journey to the glacier region.

Recommendation: Laguna Torre (walk from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.) along with Laguna de los Tres (walk from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.) is one of the most classic walks of the place.

Day 8: Visit a local Estancia + Navigation to the Perito Moreno Glacier

Stop At: Parque Nacional Los Glaciares, Avenida Del Libertador 1302, El Calafate Z9405AHY Argentina
You’ll have an early start today for a drive across the old estancias road on a small-group excursion. The guide will explain to you about the rural life of the Patagonian farms and the indigenous influence. Then, you will arrive at the Estancia and enjoy a typical barbecue with the best wines of the country (included)

After lunch, you´ll navigate the South and Rico arms of Lake Argentino and disembark at Las Monedas beach for a walk in the wood (low level of difficulty). After sailing again you will reach the Perito Moreno Glacier. It is an enormous ice mass covering a 250 square km area and is one of the most wonderful glaciers in the world.

It is easy to approach the front of the glacier by walking along the footbridges (free time, around 2 hours)

Return to El Calafate during the evening by minibus.

Day 9: Welcome to Península de Valdés: the kingdom of the whales

Stop At: Peninsula Valdes, Puerto Madryn Argentina
In Calafate Airport you will take a flight to Trelew. At the airport you will rent a car to travel to Puerto Madryn and Peninsula Valdés, explore the city, go to the beach and discover the flora and fauna.

Day 10: Welcome to Punta Tombo: The paradise of penguins

Stop At: Punta Tombo, Ruta Provincial 1 approx 100 km from the cities of Rawson & Trelew, Dos Pozos Argentina
Free day to visit Punta Tombo, the largest colony of Magellanic penguins in Latin America. This reserve is home to almost 150,000 pairs of penguins, who come to incubate their eggs between September and April.

This day you will be able to carry out an optional activity closer to marine animals, you can go out in kayak to see the sea lions up close playing in their natural habitat and accompanying them on their journey through the sea.

Day 11: Welcome to Puerto Pirámides: on the road of the guanacos

Stop At: Puerto Piramides 9121 Argentina
You will discover the terrestrial fauna of the peninsula: guanacos, ñandus, and the Darwin maras (better known as patagonian hares) and the marine fauna, wolves and elephant seals and the famous southern right whale.

Day 12: Welcome to Puerto Pirámides: The kingdom of the whales

Stop At: Puerto Piramides 9121 Argentina
Finally, it’s time to meet the famous southern right whales, that will be present in the Valdés Peninsula from july to december. You will have the opportunity to see them from the beach, and then you will get on a boat to get close and see these giants of the sea up close.

Day 13: Return to Buenos Aires (Flight and transfer to the hotel in Palermo)

You will return your rental car and go to Trelew airport, you will take a flight to Buenos Aires. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel in Palermo. Afternoon and free night to enjoy the last day in the city with family.
