Your morning tour begins with convenient pickup service from either your Buenos Aires hotel or other accommodation. At 9am, you will be greeted by your private guide and picked up by a private car. Drive to Plaza de Mayo, the political center of Argentina and the starting point of this tour's exploration into Argentina's history. It was here that the famous May Revolution of 1810 occurred and Argentina won its independence from Spain. Your guide will explain to you how this square would become and remain a focal point for the country, its people and politics.

Hear stories of Peronism, beginning in the 1940s, a political and social movement led by then Colonel Juan Peron. He would eventually become the country's President and the husband of legendary Eva Peron. Through interesting stories, you will be guided through decades of Peronism and the violent coup that led to the Dirty Wars.

Follow the footsteps of the 1970s protesters and demonstrations, learn of the disappearance of 30,000 of Argentina's citizens, and the 1976 coup d'etat by a military regime of oppression. This turbulent and bloody history will give you a strong sense of the Argentinean people, their struggles, and their courage. You will be moved by the strength of the Madres de Plaza de Mayo, the mothers of those 30,000 missing or presumed dead Argentinians. Hear how they would march in defiance of the military regime and demand the safe return of their loved ones.

Then, go to the Parque de la Memoria (Remembrance Park), a public square by the Rio de la Plata estuary. See tributes of those who were lost forever in the beautiful artwork on display. The park offers some beautiful views of Buenos Aires as a backdrop to those tributes. Here you will see the Memorial Wall dedicated to those individuals who were victims of the 1976-1983 violent military regime, officially known as the National Reorganization Process but more commonly referred to as the Dirty War.
