Stop at Plaza de Mayo, the political center of the city, to admire Casa Rosada, where the Argentine president holds office. Photograph the pink exterior of the impressive building before you see more sights in the square, including the Cabildo (town hall) and the Metropolitan Cathedral.

Pass By: Avenida de Mayo, Buenos Aires Argentina

This is the only artery linking the Casa Rosada (Government House) with the Palacio del Congreso (Congress House), and the main character in many important events in the country’s national history. The avenue is also surrounded by emblematic buildings: the Casa de la Cultura (Culture House) – former La Prensa newspaper-, the Cabildo, the Café Tortoni, the Castelar Hotel, the Teatro Avenida and Palacio Barolo.
