Trekking to Fitz Roy Hill

This is the main trekking in the area, and one of the most beautiful in the area, as it leads us to the foot of the mythical Mount Fitz Roy.

 The view of the Fitz Roy Massif, the lagoon and its glaciers, is spectacular. A few meters away, you can also discover a very good view of the Laguna Sucia.

Itinerary

08.00 AM: Search for passengers through their hotels to go to the beginning of the trail, which is located 18 kms. from El Chaltén, at Hostería El Pilar. Shortly before arriving, a stop is made at a panoramic point overlooking the Fitz Roy. Then, you reach the head of the path, where the pedestrian activity begins and we enter the forest bordering the White River. Continuing along this path, just 1 hour walk you reach a first viewpoint, with an excellent view of the Piedras Blancas Glacier. After this stop, about 45 minutes more you reach the Poicennot camp. Then, very close, the river is crossed by the small suspension bridge, to reach the Base Camp "Rio Blanco". From this point, those who have more energy, the Guide will take them to the Mirador de Laguna de los Tres, which from Rio Blanco is 420 meters of altitude in 1 hour of trekking. The view of the Fitz Roy Massif, the lagoon and its glaciers, is spectacular. A few meters away, you can also discover a very good view of the Laguna Sucia. You return to El Chaltén along the path that passes through the Mirador de Laguna Capri. Approximately between 5:00 pm and 6:00 pm, El Chaltén will be arriving.
