Qantas Founders Museum, in Longreach, Queensland, is dedicated to telling the story of Australia’s national airline Qantas Airways Ltd, which began operations in Western Queensland in 1921. Characters of the early Qantas days, their pioneering spirit and the impact the airline had for all Australians, is brought to life through life size exhibits, historical artefacts and interactive displays including the National Heritage Listed Qantas Hangar. Visiting Qantas Founders Museum will provide visitors real insight to the hardship of the early days of Qantas and how the airline, with the support of Outback Queensland, developed into the airline it is today.

Qantas Founders Museum tells the story of Qantas Airways Ltd from its early days in Outback Queensland in the 1920s to present day. The Museum has a wide array of exhibits, interactive displays and rare artefacts that explain the trials and tribulations of the company and its growth to the airline it is today. The Museum has several aircraft display's including full size replicas of a AVRO 504 K (the first aircraft Qantas owned), a DH-50 and DH-61 as well as a Catalina PBY -6A. The Museum also provides daily guided tours of the iconic National Heritage Listed Qantas Hangar. For visitors looking for a break and something to eat the Museum's McGinness' Restaurant is always a favourite while the Founders Store provides a variety of products for purchase including memorabilia, homewares, art, books, DVDs and clothing. Museum entry is a two day pass, at the end of a guest's first day of visiting, they can ask for a pass out ticket which will allow them to visit for a second day for free.
