Paro is one of the beautiful valley and home to many interesting cultural and historical places. The world-famous Paro Taktshang (Tigers nest) monastery is located in Paro. A day hike to this renowned Tigers Nest monastery shouldnt be missed and is a lifetime experience.
Itinerary
Day 1: Scenic flight to Paro(2235m/7332ft.) and drive to Thimpu(2320m/7656ft.)
Stop At: Tashichho Dzong (Thimpu Dzong), Chhagchhen Lam, Thimphu Bhutan
After having our breakfast in the hotel at Kathmandu we moved towards Tribhuvan International Airport early in the morning. It takes 50 mins to Paro International Airport in Bhutan. Enjoying the view of great Himalayas and offering the dazzling view of the world's highest glacial peaks while being on the flight, we reach Paro, Bhutan. After you will exit from the gate, our representative will welcome you transfer to the hotel in a private vehicle. After having our lunch at the hotel we will visit the famous Ta Dzong Museum, Paro Rinpung Dzong, Kichu Lhakhang (The oldest temple of Bhutan) and then drive to Thimpu, the largest and capital city of Bhutan. In the evening you will get an awesome opportunity to explore the streets of Thimpu.

Day 2: Drive to Wangdue Phodrang(1273m/4177ft.) and Punakha(1242m/4075ft.)
Stop At: Punakha Dzong, Punakha 13001 Bhutan
After having the breakfast, excursion to Thimpu Valley of National Memorial Chorten, National Textile Museum, the Folk Heritage Museum, School of Traditional Painting of Arts and Crafts and other many beautiful places. You will also visit the National Library where you will get an opportunity to explore the ancient Bhutanese arts, architecture, and scriptures. Other major attraction places are National Post Office, the Clock Tower Square and the Motithang Takin Preserve (an erstwhile Zoo) and then drive to Wangduephodrang and Punakha. It takes 30min to Wangdue and briefly visits the Wangduphodrang. The monument former glory was engulfed by fire in 2011. On the way, we will cross the Dochula Pass(3000m/10000ft.) and enjoy the eastern Himalayan which offers a spectacular view of Himalayan ranges and visit Druk Wangyal Lhakhang. Also visit the Semtokha Dzong, one of the oldest fortresses in the kingdom. Punakha, the old capital city of Bhutan, famous for rice farming. We will visit the traditional Bhutanese farmhouse which offers a good insight into the local lifestyle of local people and their culture. En route, we stop to view the Temple of fertility which was built by Lama Drukpa Kuenley, known popularly as the Divine Mad Man, in the 15th century.

Day 3: Drive to Paro(2200m7200ft.)
Stop At: Paro Taktsang, Taktsang Trail BT, Paro Bhutan
After breakfast, we will drive to the north of Punakha for a short excursion to Khamsum Yuelley Namgyel Chorten. We will visit the impressive Punakha Dzong, a traditional fort built-in 1637 by Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal. Punakha Dong is a massive structure built at the structure of two rivers. We will drive back to Paro to visit the Ta Dzong, ancient watchtower functions as the national museum of Bhutan. Then we will visit Rimpung Dzong (Paro Dzong) one of the largest Buddhist monastery and fortress of the Drukpa Lineage of the Kagyu school in Paro District, Bhutan. Dzong architecture is a distinctive type of architecture found mainly in Bhutan and Tibet. In the evening, visit the Handicraft Emporium and free for shopping.

Day 4: Drive to Taktsang monastery(3120m/10240ft.)
Stop At: Paro Taktsang, Taktsang Trail BT, Paro Bhutan
After sightseeing of Paro, we will hike to major attractions of Bhutan, The Tigers Nest also known as Taktsang monastery. Taktsang is the most famous monastery of Bhutan which is craved with an ancient supernatural story believed to be a place where Guru Rinpoche flew on the back of Tiger and meditated there. We will enjoy the spectacular views of the monastery hanging on the cliff. The monastery clings to a sheer rock face situated 900m above the Paro valley floor. A scenic view of Paro can be seen from the Tiger's nest. Legend says Guru Padmasambhava, the tantric mystic who brought Buddhism to Bhutan in 747A.D, flew to Tiger's Nest on the back of a flying tigress and meditated for three months. Later visit oldest temple Kitchu Lhakhang, built-in 659A.D by the Tibetan king Srongsen Gompo which has been scripted with gold dust and the crushed bone powder of a divine Lama. Pass through villages where local folks will greet you with open arms inviting you to appreciate authentic rural life in the lap of the Himalaya.
