Itinerary

Day 1: Arrivel at Paro international Airport

Stop At: Paro River, Paro Bhutan
• On arrival at the airport in Paro, you will be met and transferred to your hotel in Thimphu, the modern capital city of Bhutan en-route visit Simtokha Dzong: An important historical monument and former Buddhist monastery, Simtokha (Atop a Demon) is the oldest dzong in Bhutan, built in 1627.
• On arrival, check into the hotel.
• The rest of the day is at leisure to explore the city.
Overnight in Thimphu

Duration: 1 hour

Day 2: Thimphu sightseeing

Stop At: Thimphu Chorten (Memorial Chorten), Thimphu Bhutan
National Memorial Chorten: The large Tibetan-style National Memorial Chorten was built in 1974 to honour the memory of the third King, His Majesty Jigme Dorji Wangchuck (the father of modern Bhutan). This whitewashed chorten, with its golden spires, features elaborate mandalas, statues and a shrine dedicated to the popular third king. The religious paintings and complex tantric statues inside the monument reflect both peaceful and wrathful aspects of Buddhist deities. Besides a photo of the late king, there are no mortal remains of him in chorten.
Duration: 2 hours 30 minutes

Stop At: Buddha Dordenma, Kuensel Phodrang Viewing Point, Thimphu 11001 Bhutan
: Made of bronze and gilded in gold, the Buddha Dordenma is a gigantic Shakyamuni statue, the largest Buddha statue in the world at a height of 169 feet. Sitting upon a large meditation hall, there are 125,000 smaller Buddha statues, also cast in bronze and gilded that have been placed within the main statue.
Duration: 30 minutes

Stop At: Motithang Takin Preserve, Thimphu Bhutan
Taking is the Bhutan National Animal it is like half goat and half sheep.
Duration: 1 hour

Day 3: Thimphu to Punakha

Stop At: Thimphu-Punakha Hwy, Dochula, Bhutan
drive to Punakha crossing over Dochula pass (3200 mts). If the weather permits one can enjoy a spectacular breath taking view of the highest mountain peaks of Bhutan at a sight that stretches almost 180 degrees. Take a break and walk around the newly built 108 stupas and continue to the sub tropical valley of Punakha offering different vegetation.
Duration: 15 minutes

Stop At: Chimi L'hakhang Temple, Punakha Bhutan
After 45 Minutes drive we wii arrive at Punakha and taka a nice hike through the paddy field and old village to visit Chimi Lakhang, the temple of fertility associated with religious art of phallus.

Day 4: Punakha sightseeing

Stop At: Punakha Dzong, Punakha 13001 Bhutan
• Morning after late breakfast drive to visit Punakha Dzong (fortress), which houses the most elaborated temple in the country. This is a must to see fortress in Bhutan and a fine example of Bhutanese rich Art and Architecture.
• After lunch taka a nice hike through the paddy field and old village to visit Chimi Lakhang, the temple of fertility associated with religious art of phallus.
• Later after breakfast drive to the remote isolated valley of Phobjikha the drive is very picturesque and worth every turn and climb. This valley is protected being winter home for the endangered Black Necked Cranes migrating to Bhutan every end of Oct to end of Feb. This valley is a paradise for the nature lovers and hikers. On arrival, relax in the hotel and enjoy the breathtaking view of the valley.
• After reaching Phobjikha one can go for walk around the village or can rest in hotel.

Day 5: Phobjikha to Paro

Stop At: Paro River, Paro Bhutan
• Morning retrace the drive back to Paro crossing over Dochula La pass.
• Upon arrival visit the Ta dzong, an ancient watchtower, which was built in 1656 and renovated in 1968 and converted into a National Museum of Bhutan, then visit Rimpung Dzong (Paro Dzong) built in 1646 by Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyal. The Dzong presently houses administrative offices of Paro District and Monastery

Day 6: Hike to Tiger Nest

Stop At: Paro Taktsang, Taktsang Trail BT, Paro Bhutan
• Morning drive to the base for the hike (3 hrs uphill) to Tiger’s Nest, the most revered temple in the country that literally hangs on a granite cliff overlooking the Paro valley. Most of the day will go on the hike. On the way back, if you have the energy and time visit the Kichu Lakhang, one of the oldest temples in Bhutan which marks the beginning of Buddhism in the country, if not one can visit town for some leisure time and shopping’s.

Day 7: Departure

Stop At: Paro River, Paro Bhutan
Morning transfer to the airport for your departure flight. Our representative will bid you farewell at the airport.
