Makgadikgadi pans is purported to be the origin of all present humanity. New research findings shows that the place, a once thriving lush green superlake flowing from the greater Zambezi provided nourishment for our early ancestors. The place is rich is heritage and culture. Its truly worth coming back home for a two nights visit!

Itinerary

Day 1: Drive up to Kubu Island from Maun

Stop At: Kubu Island, Makgadikgadi Pans National Park Botswana
A breathtaking view of the dried ancient super lake where all of humanity apparently started from. Kubu island is surrounded by rocky outcrops, endless salt pans with amazing horizons with some Baobabs.
Duration: 5 hours

Day 2: Guided Nature Walk

Stop At: Kubu Island, Makgadikgadi Pans National Park Botswana
A guide from the local community trust will take you through on a guided walk around the island. He will explain the different rock formations, the history of the place and its people and a whole lot more. You will have an opportunity to walk around the island seeing big baobabs that have been in the place for years.
