We offer not only a trivial trip to Jalapão, but an experience to mark your life, as each expedition to Jalapão is a lifetime baggage.
 Also including a direct contact with the jalapoeira culture, we foster the local economy by practicing community-based tourism.

The MINISTRY OF TOURISM selected 10 TOURIST RECEPTIVES from Brazil to attend the EXPERIENCES OF BRAZIL booth at Abav Expo 2019. Among hundreds we were the only one from Tocantins and Jalapão

Itinerary

Day 1: Transfer in (airport to hotel in Palmas)

Pass By: Hotel Pousada dos Girassóis, Quadra 103 Sul, Conjunto 03, Lote 39 B e 39 C Centro - Plano Diretor Sul, Palmas - TO, 77015-038, Brazil
We will pick you up at the airport / bus station and transfer you to the hotel, please advise flight and time.

Day 2: Palms Crossing to Japanese Lagoon

Stop At: Lagoa Do Japones, Estrada Lagoa Pindorama do Tocantins, Ponte Alta do Tocantins, State of Tocantins 77380-000 Brazil
Around 08:00, after breakfast, we will travel 120km of asphalt to the small town of Ponte Alta. Then we will walk another 50km of paved road until we reach another small town called Pindorama, and another 30km of dirt road to get to know the Lagoa do Japones, a beautiful lagoon with crystal blue water.
Duration: 3 hours

Stop At: Pedra Furada, To-130, Ponte Alta do Tocantins, State of Tocantins Brazil
At around 16:00 we will go to a completely different place, to experience the earth element, in its most beautiful form, Morro da Pedra Furada. If all goes well, we will have a beautiful sunset.
Duration: 1 hour

• Lunch: We will have lunch at Dona Minervina, a local resident, she will serve us a genuinely jalapoeira menu - experiences.
• Dinner: We will have dinner at a local restaurant in Mateiros.
Accommodation included: Overnight in Pousada in Ponte Alta, Accommodation with private bathroom, air conditioning and electric shower.

Day 3: Portal Crossing from Jalapan to the Heart of Jalapan

Stop At: Canyon Sussuapara, Pte. Alta do Tocantins - TO, 77590-000, Brazil
Around 08: 00hs, after breakfast, we will board the suitcase and gourd vehicle, get ready, will be the crossing of Jalapão to the Heart of Jalapão, a total of 190Km of dirt road. Our first stop will be to know the Sussuapara Canyon, get ready to know a sanctuary, inside, on any day of the year, we will have the impression that it always rains. Admission is not free, but is included.
Duration: 40 minutes

Stop At: Comunidade Quilombola do Rio Novo, Mateiros - State of Tocantins, 77590-000, Brazil
Today will be special, around 12:00 we will have lunch in the Quilombola Community of Rio Novo - experiences - in the restaurant of Cleuza.
Duration: 2 hours

Stop At: Prainha do Rio Novo, Mateiros - State of Tocantins, 77590-000, Brazil
After lunch we will not rest much, because we have a beautiful, freshwater beach to enjoy.
Duration: 1 hour

Stop At: Dunas do Jalapao, Mateiros, State of Tocantins Brazil
We will still have a surreal place to know, the Jalapão Dunes. Do not forget to prepare your eyes, because if all goes well we will enjoy a beautiful sunset.
Duration: 1 hour

• Lunch: Around 12:00 we will have lunch at the Quilombola Community of Rio Novo - experiences - at Cleuza's restaurant
• Dinner: Dinner at a local restaurant.

Day 4: In the center of Jalapão

Stop At: Serra do Espirito Santo, Jalapao State Park, State of Tocantins Brazil
For walkers out door the day starts at 04:00. Today we will wake up early, it will be a spectacular dawn, we will get in the vehicle and we will go to Serra do Espírito Santo, with clear weather we will see the most impressive sky in Brazil, with more stars than anyone can count. The climb is short, about 750m, but challenging, a medium to hard level, all working out we will watch over the mountain a beautiful dawn. (optional, cost of $ 120 / person).
Duration: 4 hours

Stop At: Formiga Waterfall, Mateiros, State of Tocantins Brazil
Around 08:00 we will be at the inn having breakfast. When we least expect it we will be resting in the waters of the most beautiful waterfall of Jalapão, the Formiga Waterfall, and at that moment everything will be worth it.
Duration: 2 hours

Stop At: Fervedouro das Macaúbas, Mateiros - State of Tocantins, 77593-000, Brazil
So as not to lose the mood of the expedition we go to Macaúbas Fervedouro. This will be the first of at least 3 we will visit.
Here you will be impressed.
Duration: 40 minutes

Stop At: Sao Felix do Tocantins, Sao Felix do Tocantins, State of Tocantins
Around 13:00 we go to Quilombola do Prata Community - experiences - where we will have lunch and get to know a little of the local culture.
Duration: 3 hours

Stop At: Fervedouro Bela Vista, A 3 km de Sao Felix aida sentido Mateiros, Sao Felix do Tocantins, State of Tocantins 77605-000 Brazil
The day will end in the waters of the Bela Vista Fervedouro, the largest and best known in Jalapão.
Duration: 1 hour

• Lunch: Lunch at the Quilombola do Prata Community. Jalapoeira typical food.
• Dinner
Accommodation included: Overnight in Pousada São Félix, accommodation with private bathroom, air conditioning and electric shower.

Day 5: Crossing back to Palms

Stop At: Fervedouro do Alecrim, São Félix do Tocantins - TO, 77605-000, Brazil
Today will be a special day, it will be our farewell. Right after breakfast we go to the Rosemary Fervedouro, the first of São Félix.
Duration: 1 hour

Stop At: Cachoeira das Araras, São Félix do Tocantins - State of Tocantins, 77605-000, Brazil
Next we will go to the Araras Waterfall, and here will be our farewell to the waters of Jalapão
Duration: 2 minutes

Stop At: Serra da Catedral, Sao Felix do Tocantins, State of Tocantins Brazil
Around 15:00 we will pass in front of the Morro da Catedral and we will take photographs to remember this expedition forever, in the evening we will be in Palmas.
Duration: 40 minutes

Day 6: Transfer out (airport hotel in Palmas)
