Brazilian Flavours plant-based
Coming to our cooking classes is a unique opportunity to learn how to prepare (and eat) delicious, traditional food that also happens to be whole-food, plant-based, and to discover interesting aspects of the history and culture of Brazil. It is also a great opportunity to meet young world travelers and expats living in Brazil and see this country and its amazing rich culture through our eyes.
For a start I prepared a short introduction to give you the background of the influences that shaped Brazilian cuisine. We then start by mixing the best Caipirinha you will probably drink in Brazil. Be warned! I will ruin you for the Caipirinhas at the beach or in the streets ;) After that we start preparing our food. Learn how to make Feijoada and Moqueca, Acarajé and Vatapá, Farofa and other Brazilian delicatessen. At the end we will enjoy our meal in our patio under the Mango tree.
We start with an introduction on Brazilian cuisine and its history and influences. Then we will put some Samba, prepare a Caipirinha and start preparing our meals in my amazing outdoor kitchen.
Depending on the group size we prepare two, three or even more courses. This is a hands-on cooking class. Put on your apron and start cutting, mixing, combining flavours, tasting and stirring. During the class you may also test your new knowledge of Caipirinha mixing. Once finished we decorate our serving plates and sit down to enjoy our meal with some good Brazilian red wine (you'll be surprised!) and some Bossanova. All in all this is going to be an unforgettable addition to your trip to Rio de Janeiro.
PS: The idea of this class is to give you everything you need in order to host a Brazilian night back home for your friends and family. I personally think this is the best gift you can bring back home. That's why I have prepared a free ebook with recipes and backgrounds which I send to you after the class.
