Created in 1961, the Chapada dos Veadeiros National Park was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2001 and protects an area of 240,611 hectares of high altitude cerrado, home to species of animals such as Onça (jaguar), Ema (rhea), Lobo Guará (Guará wolf) and unique plants formations, hundreds of water springs and courses, rocks over a billion years old, and rare beauty landscapes. Hikes and waterfall baths are the main activities in the Park.

Couros falls is one of the most incredible walks of the Chapada dos Veadeiros. It’s about 15 km of asphalt road and 35 km of dirt road, but all of it is compensated at the first stop where you can not only see an incredible fall but also bathe in its refreshing and strong waters. The trail counts with 3 more falls of great volume and indescribable beauty. It’s definitely one of those places where no image can represent the magic of seeing and feeling those waters in real colours.
