Portals of Hercules - Trekking Expedition

Portals of Hercules is a beautiful gazebo and is located in the heart of the Serra dos Órgãos National Park (PARNASO).

Its access is through the Bonfim Valley, in Corrêas, Petrópolis, on a trek of approximately 22km (round trip), it can be done in one day in the style bate and back, or in two days with overnight in the Castles of Açú.

The Véu da Noiva Waterfall, and the Miradas da Pedra do Queijo, Chapadão and Açú Castles are the main points of the trip to the place of the first night, the shelter.

To see the sunrise, it is necessary to get up just before 5 am and be willing to face the cold, which in winter can reach temperatures below 0 ° c.

When you arrive at the gazebo, the scenery is breathtaking, we see unique rock formations such as Crown of the Friar, Garrafão, Devil's Needle, Finger of God, Escalavrado and many others, on good weather days, it is possible to see the Three Peaks and the Helmet, located in Salinas, Nova Friburgo.

Day 1: Serra dos Órgãos National Park x Açu Castles

Trekking about 24km to the Açu Castles, passing waterfalls and beautiful viewpoints

Day 2: Castles of Açú x Dawn in the Portals of Hercules
