Hi, my name is Yuri, please let me introduce myself. I was born in Rio de Janeiro and raised in Copacabana practicing all sorts of outdoors sports like surfing, climbing, and hiking. I also trained the local sports to a high degree, I am a Brazilian Jiu Jtisu black belt and a Capoeira master. I feel very privileged to live in such a beautiful and culturally rich city that is Rio.

I have travelled all over the world to places diverse as Peru, the UK, Scandinavia, Germany, Croatia, France, Holland, Spain, and Bali working with Capoeira workshops and making friends. I used to work in my family business in Copacabana, specialising in beach wear and sports. Our swimwear and capoeira trousers became famous, especially in Europe and in Israel. After many years working in the shop, I decided to become a tour guide in 2012. :)

Astonishingly beautiful yet relatively unknown, Pedra Bonita is a hidden gem, towering above the forest of Tijuca National Park and offering a bird’s eye view across the city. Standing at 2,283 feet, this mountain lies between the districts of São Conrado and Barra da Tijuca with a road leading to the Estrada das Canoas; a famous and favorite take-off point for Hand Gliders. From here a path can be taken through the forest, affording a glimpse at some fantastic natural wildlife, complete with the occasional monkey swinging through the trees.

It is the largest waterfall in Tijuca Forest, has 35 meters and is named after the artist Nicolas them Taunay, who arrived in Brazil in 1816, with the French Artistic Mission.
