The ride in the cable cars occur in two stages: first at the boarding station to the Urca Mountain (224 meters - 735 ft); and secondly from the Urca Mountain to the top of Sugar Loaf (395 meters - 1,296 ft).The view is breathtaking!

It is located in the downtown area of Cidade Nova in Rio de Janeiro, and is the place where samba schools parade competitively each year during the Rio Carnival.

Tijuca National Park
The Tijuca Forest is home to hundreds of species of plants and wildlife, many threatened by extinction, and found only in the Atlantic Rainforest (Mata Atlântica in Portuguese). The vegetation is so dense that scientists have estimated that ambient temperatures in surrounding areas have been lowered by up to 9 °C. The forest also contains around 30 waterfalls.In 1961, Tijuca Forest was declared a national park.
