50 meters underground - Private Day Tour

We begin our journey by visiting the city of Pernik and more specifically - one of the old mines which is 50 meters underground. Its name is “Temelko Nenkov” and in 1891 there was turned the first sod of ore in Bulgaria! Today the mine is a museum of the Mining works - one and only on the Balkans.

Next, we’ll visit the beautiful Giginski monastery which is situated in the Black Forest region. You’ll be amazed by the monastery’s beauty, rich history, healing mineral water, an old church built in 1814 and the sound of the bronze bells each weighing 1000 kilograms.

Energized by the beauty and power of this place we’ll depart for our next stop - the town of Breznik. There we’ll find the spring with the “Iron water” - the richest in ingredients mineral water in the country (it has 23 different ingredients). In Breznik is situated also “St. Petka” - a church which is an architectural and cultural monument with preserved unique frescoes.

Pass By: Sofia History Museum, pl.Banski 1, Sofia 1000 Bulgaria

The tour starts at 09:30 am when our tripvam representative will pick you up from your hotel.

We leave for Pernik city which is just 30 minutes drive from Sofia.

On this amazing day we’ll:
- Visit Pernik city and the unique Underground Museum of Mining

Explore the underground galleries
- Visit the town of Breznik – the “iron water” spring and the temple St.Petka
- Visit Giginski Monastery and explore its surroundings. There you’ll be able to try buffalo and sheep yogurt and cheese, honey and wine – all produced by the monks who live in the monastery!
