This

6-hour tour combines

culture, history, wine and food in the best possible way, and your friendly Tour Leader will be present to explain everything and answer any question that you may have!

The tour begins at 10 am in the morning after your breakfast, when your private Tour Leader picks you up from your accommodation in Plovdiv.

Leaving Plovdiv, we drive south towards the Rhodope mountains. 

Most of the region surrounding Plovdiv is a thriving wine region, and the first thing that we will do is visit a winery, where you will be welcomed inside for a guided tour of the production area and the wine cellar.

Learn about the wine making process from grape to bottle, and discover the deep history of wine in Bulgaria. A visit to a winery would not be complete without a tasting of 5 Bulgarian wines. 

With wine there must be food. The day continues with a stop for a delicious and authentic lunch in a traditional restaurant. Savor the fresh and hearty Bulgarian cuisine. Your Tour Leader will be happy to explain all the food dishes for you.

Continue further into the mountains to discover the spectacular Bachkovo Monastery. Once you step foot inside the monastery walls, you can feel the calmness wash over you. Spend some time exploring the grounds and churches of the monastery. Marvel at the impressive wall paintings and religious icons. Buy a small souvenir from the shop to support the monks and the upkeep of the monastery. Light a candle in the church and enjoy the tranquil ambiance.
