Our first goal is visiting the symbolic town of Batak where your professional guide will introduce you to one of the most dramatic moments in Bulgarian history. We will stop by the ossuary church which becomes a symbol of heroism for Bulgarian people during the April Uprisings against the Ottomans in 1876. Today, it forms one of the most legendary landmarks in the country, fascinating visitors with its astounding past.

After this, we will head to a nearby village where you will enjoy a degustation of traditional Bulgarian food and drinks on the shore of the beautiful lake Tsigov Chark. For the curious ones - you will be able to try different types of our most traditional alcoholic beverage- rakiya and learn about the process of its production. Be prepared, its a strong one!

After a short drive to the most vivid thermal city in the region - Velingrad, our driver will drop us off at a local station from where we will take the authentic narrow-gauge line – the only operational such train in Bulgaria, forming the highest railway on the Balkans. During the ride, we will get to meet the local minority and learn more about their present life and traditions. Drink your afternoon cup of tea prepared entirely of local herbs while enjoying this scenic voyage through the gorge of river Chepinska.
