Do you like the Balkans? In this trip, we offer you just a little bit more of them - our western neighbor Serbia!

During this Day tour, we’ll visit two Serbian cities - Pirot and Nis while enjoying the history, local food, and many positive vibes.

On our way, we’ll visit a six centuries old fortress, the birthplace of Emperor Constantine the Great and his country house, but also a place where many evil things have happened as well as the biggest concentration camp escape in history!

Itinerary

Pass By: Sofia History Museum, pl.Banski 1, Sofia 1000 Bulgaria

This Day tour starts at 08:30 am when our tripvam representative will pick you up from your hotel.

Two hours driving time and we’ll be in Pirot.

In Pirot we will visit:

The old fortress “Kaleto” – dated back to the 14th century AD. It’s situated in the city center and it was once called “Momchilgrad”, because the town of Pirot was in Bulgarian territory at some point in the past.

The monument “Pirot’s liberators from Ottoman rule”

If our tour is on a Saturday we can also visit the Pirot’s marketplace where many local people are selling their homemade stuff and even people from Bulgaria go there on weekends to buy what they need!

Our next stop is the city of Nis where we’ll have traditional Serbian lunch – pleskavitsa, veshaltsi and other delicious stuff!

Then we’ll have a nice afternoon walk around Nis and learn about some of the secrets, stories and beauties that this old city is keeping.

Expected time of arrival back in Sofia – 6:00 pm
