This 4 days cultural and sightseeing tour in Burundi starts in and ends in Bujumbura, the capital of the tiny East African nation rich in cultural and historical artifacts.
The trip includes airport transfers and a cultural visit to Gitega, the former colonial, and royal capital, where we visit Gishora drum Sanctuary and the national museum.

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Bujumbura, Burundi

Arrival in Bujumbura

Stop At: Rusizi National Park, Gihanga, Bujumbura Burundi
On arrival at Bujumbura airport, meet and greet by our driver/guide and enjoy a Bujumbura city tour visiting:
• the Rusizi National Park where a boat trip is possible to let you explore closer the hippos and birds in Rusizi River;
• Albert’s crocodiles;
• Islam Culture Centre;
• the Explorers Memorial, a huge rock in the Suburbs of Bujumbura commemorating the meeting between explorers Livingstone & Stanley
• Visit of ARFIC, the coffee processing factory in Bujumbura. Coffee and tea are the main export products and source of income for Burundi. During your visit, you will go through the coffee processing steps until the final product. A cup of coffee will be offered on the spot and you can buy coffee right from there.
• Sion Market
• Belvedere Hill offering a nice of Lake Tanganyika and the city.
• Enjoy a Tuk-Tuk tour on the shores of Lake Tanganyika
• Your guide can also improvise on any visit around the city, he is flexible and can always inspire you on new things to do.

Day 2: Source of Nile and Karera Waterfalls

Stop At: Karera Waterfalls, Burundi
After early breakfast at 8:00, we take the direction to the Source of Nile, and then Karera waterfalls. On the route, magnificent tea plantations and landscapes will make you carry your camera ready for pictures. After Karera waterfalls, drive to Gitega, the second town and colonial capital of Burundi to visit the National Museum and do a Gitega city tour.

Day 3: Gishora drum sanctuary, Gitega

Stop At: Gishora Drum Sanctuary, Rn 15 Gishora, Gitega Burundi
After breakfast, visit the Gishora Drum sanctuary for a drum performance at Gishora hill before visiting Teza tea plantations for a nature walk and visit the Teza tea plantations.

Day 4: Bujumbura International Airport
