Stop At: Angkor Archaeological Park, Taphul, Siem Reap Cambodia

In the morning your guide and tuktuk will pick you up from your hotel at 07:30. First you go the ticket center to pick up your day pass for the Angkor park. The day is then filled with visiting and enriching yourself with several temples within the ancient grounds.

Starting with the Angkor Thom complex. Visit the southern gate of Angkor Thom to see the 54 stone figures of gods and demons. Then, enter the fortified city to get a closer look at the richly decorated Bayon temple. There are 54 towers with 4 faces on each tower, a sight not to be missed.

From the Bayon you will walk to the Baphoun temple. It is a steep climb (stairs) to the top but nice views as your reward. You exit on the west side and take a nice and quiet path through the forest, passing ancient Spung trees, to the Royal Palace enclosure, Phimeanakas temple and the Terrace of the Elephants.

By tuktuk you go to Ta Prohm, which has been left to the forces of nature when it was rediscovered. Many parts of its structure are being embraced by the roots of gigantic trees that give the ruin a special atmosphere.

The late afternoon is at leisure.
