Itinerary

Day 1: Speed boat from Phnompenh to Chau Doc, Vietnam

Stop At: Chau Doc, Chau Doc, An Giang Province
Day 1: Speed boat from Phnompenh to Chau Doc, Vietnam
Today you will be picked up at your hotel in Phnom Penh and board a public speed boat at Sisowath Harbor to head to Chau Doc, Vietnam. Then you’ll speed along Tone Le Sap River to Khoorm Som Nor and Vinh Xuong international border for Vietnam/Cambodia. After immigration we’ll continue our fast cruise along the Mekong River and arrive at Victoria or Sunrise harbor in Chau Doc. You’ll have a transfer to your hotel in Chau Doc for taking a rest and getting started for your next adventure in Vietnam.

Day 2: Chau Doc - Tra Su Mangrove Forest - Overnight in Can Tho

Day 2: Chau Doc - Tra Su Mangrove Forest - Overnight in Can Tho
This morning we will check out early ready for a scenic drive to the amazing Tra Su Mangrove Forest. At this peaceful, tranquil location we will pass through canals in the forest, to observe wading birds. Prepare to be dazzled by this enchanting place, filled with mossy green waterways lined with beautiful cajuput trees. Keep your eyes out for some of the amazing wildlife that abounds here including birds of paradise and storks.
After Tra Su, we will drive to visit the impressive Ba Chua Xu temple set at the foot of the Sam Mountain. Once we have completed our visit here we will take a unique Xe Loi bicycle rickshaw trip through the surrounding villages. We will end at Ba Sa fish square before driving to Can Tho for our overnight stay. Once we arrive here we will drive you to your chosen hotel. If you’re still energetic enough to see and do more, we’ll take a visit to a local night market!

Day 3: Cai Rang Floating Market

Stop At: Cai Rang Floating Market, 46 Hai Ba Trung Near Cai Rang Bridge, Can Tho 900000 Vietnam
On day three we’ll get up early and head straight out to make the most of the day. We’ll board our own private boat to head to Cai Rang, the biggest floating market in the whole of Asia. You will get to experience local produce being sold first-hand from boat to boat. You’ll get the chance to buy produce of your own and you can even sip your morning coffee at one of the awesome floating coffee shops.
After the market we will head back to the hotel for some well-deserved breakfast. Having checked out, we’ll head to Cai Be - Vinh Long.

Day 4: Tan Phong Island & Drive to Ho Chi Minh City

Stop At: Tan Phong, Tan Phong, Tien Giang Province, Mekong Delta
Day 4: Tan Phong Island & Drive to Ho Chi Minh City
Sit back and relax this morning as our sampan takes you along serene canals of the mighty Mekong River. These hidden waterways are engulfed in lush vegetation and local villages where you can admire the colours and culture alike. While on our travels we will visit the secluded Tan Phong island. Here we can stop-off at a tasty fruit orchard, experience the enchanting music of Vietnam and take a guided bicycle tour of this marvellous island. Later we will head to the Vinh Long Pier and market where you can see even more of the specialities Mekong has to offer.
Finally, our last stop before heading back to Ho Chi Minh City is the stunning Cao Dai temple where we can learn about this peaceful religion and admire the temple’s ornate design and bold use of colour.

Day 5: Explore Cu Chi Tunnels and Ho Chi Minh City

Day 5: Explore Cu Chi Tunnels and Ho Chi Minh City
Today we will take you to experience one of Vietnam’s most famous attractions, the Cu Chi Tunnels! Our day starts with a hotel pickup after breakfast, then we’ll hit the road early to beat the crowds.
After a pleasant drive, we’ll arrive at the tunnels where you’ll learn all about their important role in the Viet Cong resistance and how they were used as hiding spots, communication and supply routes, even hospitals and living quarters. You’ll have the chance to go underground and experience the tunnels for yourself! This tour offers a fascinating and informative insight into the lives of the Viet Cong, with plenty to see and learn!
After the excitement of the tunnels, we’ll visit a local family where the owner will happily tell us about her traditional home, garden and livestock. She’ll even show us how to make Vietnam’s famous rice paper and the interesting process of rubber tapping. A scenic drive back to HCMC allows us to enjoy a delicious lunch of traditional southern Vietnamese cuisine in a local restaurant.
After lunch and recharge we’ll be ready to kick off the afternoon with a visit to the War Remnants Museum where we’ll learn about Vietnam’s past struggles and resistance through two historic wars. Next stop will be the historical Reunification Palace, a beautiful, important and perfectly preserved building. Witnessing Reunification Palace is like going back in time and experiencing first-hand the important role it played during the Vietnamese War.
Heading back to the city centre, we’ll see the beautiful architecture remaining from French colonial times, including Notre Dame cathedral, the Opera House and City Hall. To end on a high note, we’ll ascend to the famous Rex Hotel rooftop bar and drink in the views, as well as some cocktails!
