This half-day, private tour from Siem Reap is the perfect opportunity for kids to learn about Cambodia. The temples of Angkor are inspiring and beautiful, but kids at some point may start to feel a little 'temple tired." This tour is especially structured so children can enjoy themselves while also learning about another culture. The tour fee only applies to the children—though two parents are free to accompany their children free of charge.

After being picked up from your Siem Reap hotel, leave the buzz of the city behind on a short drive into the countryside. Here you'll visit a local house and see the every day life of a local Khmer family with children. You'll probably find it to be very different from a house back in your country! You can see how they cook, eat, and sleep, and what kind of things Khmer children do to help around the house. Your English speaking driver will help you translate questions for the family, and depending on the day and time, you can also drive by a local school or visit a local market.

Next you will climb up into an ox cart for a 20-minute ride through the small village and venture out into the rice fields. Our next stop is a pottery workshop where children will learn the traditional way of making a clay pot or mug. The English-speaking teacher will show you how to handle the raw material (clay), as well as use the potter’s wheel and add a couple Khmer carvings. The piece will then be fired in a kiln, and is ready to take home as a souvenir between 4pm and 5pm the next day. Your driver is happy to collect the piece and bring it your hotel, or you can also arrange to have it shipped, though additional charges apply.

After this half-day, fun-filled adventure of exploring the Cambodian villages and countryside, the tour concludes when you're driven back to the door of your Siem Reap hotel.
