Route on quiet paved roads close to the shore of Georgian Bay and Lake Huron through Mennonite farming area and several towns in the valley of the Saugeen River. including Owen Sound, Wiarton, Sauble Beach, Southampton, Port Elgin, Kincardine, Walkerton, Hanover and Paisley.
A quiet and scenic area which goes from the port of Owen Sound past the rugged rocky shores and clear water of Georgian Bay and Colpoys Bay to miles of quiet sand beaches on Lake Huron and through peaceful farming areas. Visit the home of Wiarton Willie, the world famous groundhog weather forecaster who makes his prediction each February. Enjoy the popular Summerfolk Music and Craft Festival, late August in Owen Sound and check for local special events happening most summer weekends in the resort towns of Port Elgin and Sauble Beach. The Saugeen River valley is rural countryside with small towns, quiet roads and an Amish Mennonite farming area. The reminders of the past are everywhere with rushing water past mills and mill ruins. On you return to Owen Sound you can experience the Tuesday - Keady Farmers Market with up to 250 vendors and see the cascading 80 foot high Inglis Falls.
