Stop At: Pico de Antonia, Ponta Verde, Santiago Cape Verde

We headed to the first stop in São Domingos, known for its famed traditional craft center. From there we will go to São Jorge dos Órgãos, about 400 meters high, where we walk through the National Botanical Park and see some of the exclusive species of the archipelago. We can also see the highest point of the island, the Pico de Antónia, at 1394 meters high. Then we head towards Assomada (formerly Santa Catarina), the second largest city in Santiago where the Tabanka Museum is located and a very lively popular market (Wednesdays and Saturdays).

The next stop will be in the former political prison and the Tarrafal Resistance Museum. Then we go to the small town of Tarrafal with its beach lined with palm trees where you can enjoy a short walk and feel the true life of the Cape Verdean people. We will eat in Tarrafal and then we will make a tour along the coast, visiting Porto Formoso, Calheta de São Miguel and Pedra Badejo. There will also be time to make a photo stop in the Valley of the 1000 Palms in Santa Cruz, before returning to Praia.
