Stop At: Morne Fortune, Castries St. Lucia

Head over to an authentic old Victorian colonial mansion built in the 19th century, perched high above Castries. A short guided tour will have you easily swept away to the sprawling veranda with picture-perfect views of Castries, its surrounding communities and the neighbouring French isle of Martinique which can be seen on a clear Caribbean day. The estate’s cool island breezes, lush & colourful gardens are the backdrop to 5 creative artisanal studios, where you can see batik and hand-painting demonstrations with the opportunity to shop for Batik items and other locally crafted souvenirs.

Here you will be taken on a delicious journey through the entire delectable process as you shape gorgeous confections. See, feel, hear and smell the cocoa beans as you transform them from bean to bar during this fun and delicious expirience. The treats are all yours to eat immediately or, if you’ve got willpower, to take home.

Stop At: St. Lucia Distillers Ltd, Roseau, St Lucia

Your journey continues with a scenic drive to a working rum distillery, where you will find the true spirit of Saint Lucia – the Rhythm of Rum. A guided factory tour will give you an insight into the history of rum making on the island, and a front row view to rum distillation from sugar cane to bottling. Next, you head to Carnival presentation centre where youl will get a glimpse into a part of St. Lucian culture that takes place in July. See up close the festive costumes and floats from parades past, and a breif history of the festival and its origins.

The best is saved for last when you will then get the opportunity to sample at least 16 types of local blends of rums and liqueurs with a chance to taste before you buy (at factory prices). On your return you will enjoy some magnificent views as we sail along the coast.
