The Museum of Art of Puerto Rico (MAPR), cultural heritage of the Puerto Rican people, opened 18 years ago with the mission of enriching the lives of its various audiences, making accessible the knowledge, appreciation and enjoyment of the Visual Arts of Puerto Rico and the world. Since then we have received over 2 million visitors, presented more than a hundred exhibitions of both local and international artists, multiple workshops, courses, training, programs of research and education, community outreach projects, concerts, conferences and symposiums that have positively impacted children, families, young people, adults and public with deficiencies in the development and functional diversity.

The Museo de Arte de Puerto Rico's (MAPR) Collection harbors works of art from the 17th century to the present. It contains a wide variety of works, from renowned Puerto Rican masters to popular artists from the more recent generations.

Currently, this young collection has 1,200 works of art ranging from print art, to painting, sculpture, photography and new media, among others. It has been forming itself and is a product of acquisitions and donations proceeding from the public and private sectors.
