3-days Maipo Valley wine food and cultural tour

Discover the wines, vineyards and cultural heritage of the Maipo Valley, the oldest winemaking region of Chile.

Itinerary:

Day 1: Start the tour with an intimate breakfast in a nice familiar country house with a small old beautiful forest of centenary avocado trees. You will try delicious freshly products.

After breakfast, enjoy an cultural ride in a classic carriage pulled by horses to discover the small town of Isla de Maipo and its surroundings. Go to a vineyard passing through Isla de Maipo downtown and dmire the colonial style old houses and the vineyards and wineries located within the town itself.

Visit a farm, which belongs to a famous winery. Inside the farm, stop by the vineyards for a tasting of a local wine and try some locally produced delis like cheese and pate. You will be shown the different vine varieties and learn about the tasks that take place in the vineyard each season: planting of new vines, weed management, pruning, harvest. Enjoy a delicious lunch in a cosy and chic italo-chilean restaurant. 

In the afternoon visit a historic organic winery. Walk through the vineyard, visit the old estate house, the family chapel and the cellar where you will enjoy a tasting of premium wines. After that, get back to the hotel, a Pompeian-style estate house. In the late afternoon you may want to relax by the swimming pool or bike or walk in the 40ha gardens. You could also enjoy a private thematic tasting on the terrace or the red hall. Dinner will be served in the hotel dining room, and it includes drinks, sparkling wines and premium wines. 

Day 2: Enjoy breakfast in your room, in the living room or on the terrace. 

Choose between different activities such as trekking, horseback, biking, staying by the pool or a premium tour in Santa Rita where you will visit the century old park, the Roman baths, the neo gothic chapel, and the century old wine cellars. The tour concludes with a tasting of the winery's three finest wines served paired with a cheese plate and dried fruits. Enjoy an aperitif and lunch in one of the best restaurant outside Santiago.

In the afternoon visit the Santa Rita's Andean Museum for a nice relaxing experience. 1,800 pieces of pre-Colombian art collected by businessman Ricardo Claro over 40 years are exhibited in the modern 1,500m2 building. For dinner, enjoy a wine and food pairing conducted by a professional chef  in a very surprising and special place. 

Day 3: After breakfast, you will be driven back to the place you choose in Santiago or to the airport.
