Adventures for two days in the Lauca National Park

We invite you to visit one of the highest lakes in the world the Chungara Lake-elevation of 4517 m. in the Altiplano of Arica y Parinacota Region in the Lauca National Park Chile.

But before visiting the Chungara Lake, we are presented with a fascinating adventure. We will get acquainted with the ancient culture the region of Arica and Parinacota and touch exotic nature. We will stay in such places

Visit Pucará de Copaquilla. Then lunch in village community of Zapahuira. Chilean asado (barbecue), fire. We will sleep in the village Socoroma to the adopted the altitude.

The next day, we will have breakfast and go to the amazing park Lauka. In the Park we will make stops to make small walks to see the local flora and fauna: vicuñas, vizcachas, flamingos.

We will arrive at the Chungará Lake.

We will see incredible landscapes, the volcanoes Pomerape and Parinacota. Then we will go to the hot springs of Jurasi.

But before visiting the Chungara Lake, we are presented with a fascinating adventure.

We will pick you up from the hotel. First we will find the geoglyphs of the Lluta Valley, these are La Rana, El Gigante.

Then we will drive to the town of pre-Inca origin Poconchile. There we will see the Church and Cemetery of San Gerónimo de Poconchile, founded in 1602.

We will move along the 11CH route where we will see the "Candelabra Cactus".

Then we will make a stop in a small village community of Zapahuira to rest and have lunch.

We will pass to the ruins of the Pukará de Copaquilla, pre-Hispanic buildings, dating back to the 12th century.

We will arrive at the end of our expedition ending with a majestic view of the "Gran cana de Copaquilla" canyon.

Then we will drive to the beautifull agricultural village Socoroma, is entered by a small road leadung along oregano plantations and huge Eucalyptus trees. We will stey in thes village for one nate to adapt to the altitude and enjoy the Chilean asado (barbecue).

In the morning we will have breakfast in the village of Socoroma at 9:00AM and then continue our trip to the Lauca National Park.

We will make a stop on the viewpoint of Putre to appreciate this town and observe active volcano "Taapaca". Then we will go to the National Park Lauca.

Once inside the park we will stop at a place where we can see large rock formations that give way to the natural caves.

Going even further into the Park we will reach the sector at the end of the plain called the Chaccu.

We will then arrive at the Chungará Lake sector, the highest in the world at 4,517 meters above sea level in the Lauca National Park. In front of the lake we will see : the twin volcanoes called Pomerape and Parinacota. On our tour we will make stops to make small walks to see the local flora and fauna: vicuñas, alpacas, vizcachas, flamingoes and other birds.

Then we will continue our expedition to the hot springs of Jurasi, located in the middle of a small canyon, where we will enjoy a hot water bath. After recovering our strength with hot springs, we'll have a lunch in Putre and continue back to the city of Arica by the same route.
