Horseriding on the Andes in Santiago

After pick up we arrive to the ranch of a real Huaso Chileno (Chilean cowboy), one of the few who still lives in what used to be country area of Lo Barnechea.

We begin our three hour ride, surrounded by the hills and valleys at the foot of the Andes range. On our way we have the chance to see the native flora and appreciate how it differs if the hill side faces east or west. The wild fauna includes birds of pray like the mountain caranca or the blue eagle, foxes and wild rabbits.

Itinerary

Upon arrival we will put on our helmets and chaps, and review the safety measures and instructions for horse riding on the mountains. Then we start our smooth ride by the foot of the Andes, going up and down hill, crossing a couple of water streams before we have a 15 minute break to catch our breath and freshen up while the horses rest and eat some of the wild weed. After that we get on the horses again and ride back to the ranch where we will have a delicious Chilean picnic.
