The name Las Ventanas is due to the hole left by the sea and the wind in the rocks of its long beach of the same name. Formerly there were two rocks with holes (hence the plural of the place name) that were next to the coast, but with the passage of time there has been only one.

Currently Ventanas is an area with tourist attraction, thanks to its three beaches: the homonym, Los Lunes and part of El Bato. In summer it is full, but after the winter is completely silent, its beaches are exquisite and safe, a mouth to the bay, without a doubt, an incredible educational panorama, it is still believed that ichthyosaurs live in the bay plus many local myths that keep this location and what are you waiting for? Itinerary

We will travel in time until we are in the 50s where the dune fields and wetlands of maitenes surfaced by uncapping in a beautiful geosite two centuries ago with a large nesting of choroy parrots and high number of endemic species, until the present where we can give It counts in a didactic and educational way on how the coal and chemical industry has impacted on the coast, a totally familiar trekking where we will end up appreciating a geosite from the late Jurassic era, understanding how such an inhospitable place ended in this way.
