Day 1.Tiananmen Square & the Forbidden City & Temple of Heaven & Hutong.

Day 2. Mutianyu Great Wall & The Summer Palace.

Itinerary

Day 1.Tiananmen Square & the Forbidden City & Temple of Heaven &Hutong

9:00am, pick up from the hotel and start magnificent tour to the largest city centre square in the world-Tiananmen Square and biggest and best-protected imperial palace -The Forbidden City.

Tiananmen Square is the largest city square in the world.(30 minutes)

Visit the magnificent Forbidden City. 24 emperors beginning with its creation by Emperor Yongle in 1420 until the last Qing emperor, Puyi, left in 1924. You will spend about 2 hours wandering around this amazing example of Imperial architecture and learning about the history of the palace.(2 hours)

Lunch in the local restaurant with a glass of soft drink.

In the afternoon, visit the Temple of Heaven and Hutong

The temple of heaven was built at the same time as the Forbidden City.The It is a sequence of temples and altars set in a park. Twice a year during imperial times, the emperor and a magnificent procession of some 1,000 eunuchs, courtiers, and ministers would leave the Forbidden City for the temple. At the winter solstice, he expressed thanks for the previous harvest, and on the 15th day of the first month of the lunar year, he begged the gods of sun and moon, clouds and rain, and thunder and lightening to bless the coming harvest.(1 hour)

Hutong first appeared in the yuan dynasty (1272) and was the former residence of Beijing people.You will take a rickshaw ride through the ancient Hutong street to see traditional Chinise life.(40 minutes)

Then head back to your hotel for drop-off.

Day 2. Mutianyu Great Wall and The Summer Palace

8:0am pick up from the hotel

Mutianyu Great Wall:Everybody who visits Peking wants to see the Great Wall and for good reason: it is one of the wonders of the world. As you stand on the top tower and look at the wall snaking its way across the tops of the mountains, close your eyes for a moment and see in your mind's eye the ancient armies locked in combat, and hear the whistle of arrows and the clang of striking swords. It is a place to reflect upon the past the wonder about the future.Round way of Cable car or chairlift up Toboggan Down.(3 hours)

Lunch in the local restaurant with a glass of soft drink.

In the afternoon, enjoy a peaceful walking in the largest imperial garden in China- the Summer Palace.

The Summer palace has long been a royal garden.It was frist bulid in 1153 and was considerably enlarged and embellished by Emperor Qianglong in 1750 for his mother's 60th birthday. It was later abandoned. Empress Dowager Cixi began rebuilding in 1888 for herself,It shows her luxury.Three quarters of the area is occupied by the lovely Kunming Lake. Walk back along the Long Corridor. This 728-metre long corridor is decorated with 8,000 paintings including many from the emperor travels around the country. As cameras were not available, the emperor would have artists paint scenes that caught his eye and then have them repaint.(1.5 hour)

Then head back to your hotel for drop-off.
