Day 1:Beijing - Datong  (L)

Meet a driver at your Beijing city hotels lobby at 4:30am for transfer to Beijing International Airport, where you’ll catch a short, domestic flight (1 hour) to Datong Beijiazao Airport. Your local tour guide will greet you upon arrival at the airport, then go over the day’s itinerary on your way to the first stop of the day - Yungang Grottoes. With their 252 caves and 51,000 status, the Yungang Grottoes art represent the successful fusion of Buddhist religious symbolic art from south and central Asian with Chinese cultural traditions, starting in the 5th century CE under Imperial auspices. 

After lunch in the local restaurant, you will visit Yinxian Wooden Pagoda. The Wooden Pagoda was built in 1056. It is one of the planet's oldest wooden buildings in the world.  Not a single nail was used in the construction of the nine-story, 67m-high structure, which has thus far survived seven major earthquakes. Then you will be transferred to your hotel in Datong (Booked on your own)

Day 2: Datong- Pingyao

Your tour guide will pick you up in your hotels lobby at 8:00am, heading to Hanging Temple (1.5 hours drive).  Admire the architectural wonder  which was built in 491 A.D. It has established its unique position among the various temples and monastery with its characteristics of “peril, workmanship and miracle”. 

Continue to visit one of the five sacred mountains in China - Hengshan Mountain. Take the cable car round trip to enjoy the amazing views from the mount. After lunch, say farewell to your guide in Datong, and your driver will take you to your hotel in Pingyao Old Town( 4.5 hours drive, please book your own hotel)

Day 3: Pingyao Old Town - Beijing (L)

Your tour guide will pick you up in your hotels lobby at 9:00am and start a walking tour of Pinayao Old City. Founded during the Western Zhou Dynasty (1046 – 771 BC) and rebuilt in 1370, the Pingyao old city is listed as the UNESCO site. Step into the city, the old past comes alive. The Ming Qing Street is flanked with shops of local handicraft. Rishengchang shows us the glory of the first Chinese exchange shops. The ancient government office tells everything about the bureaucracy of the feudal society. Immerse yourself in the atmosphere of old times lifestyle and appreciate the charms of old China. Feel free to discuss with your tour guide on where you want to go in the old city.

After lunch, you will be transferred to Pingyao Railway station in the late afternoon. Relax on the 4-hour journey bullet train ride back Beijing. Once arrive Beijing, you driver will pick you up from Beijing West Railway Station and  transfer you back to your hotel in Beijing City.
