Anyue is a small county roughly 150km away from Chongqing City, nearby Dazu Rock Carvings. This place is not much known as Dazu for long isolation. However a newly finished highway throughs this county offers possibility of making a one-day tour from Chongqing. But it's still not a hot spot for most tourists because there are no lots facilities to purchase and entertain around. All these make this place a proper spot for historical and cultural learners,peace seekers and photographers.

This tour covers 3 primary sites, one of the highlights is the Zizhu Buddha in Pilu Cave, which was on the cover of National Geographic.

Some hiking will be required in this tour. And it might be cancled or rescheduled due to bad weather comdition for some site might get awfully muddy and slippery.

Get started from downtown Chongqing drive all the way to Anyue county, a small town located in central Sichuan Province. 150km's highway+local roads, the ride roughly takes 2.5 hours.

The first stop is Shiyang Village, upon arrival we'll find a local dinner to feed ourselves for excursions in the afternoon. A simple quike lunch would helps a lot. Then move to site one-Pilu Cave, where the magnificent Zizhu Buddha(Pruplr Bamboo Buddha) located. That's the one was on National Geographic's cover.

Site 2 is Huayan Cave, some hiking required here for it's on hill top. This is an ancient Buddhism Holy site over 1000 years old, not quite big but travelers would be charmed and amazed by those outstanding carvings and art.

Site 3 goes to Mingshan Tempel, all statues were carved on natural cliff side, still incredibly well preserved. the art style reminds people Michelangelo.

No official admission fee here, however a caretaker lives in this temple would always expects tips from visitors. Let's assume an amount of 10 yuan per person.
