Cangshan Mountain: Alpine Meadow and Hidden Waterfalls Hike (1 Day)

A short but vigorous 3 to 4 hour hike up Cangshan Mountain, with roughly 600 metres of elevation gain and stunning natural scenery. Highlights of the trip include hiking up the side of a dramatic river gorge to a beautiful alpine meadow and visiting a series of spectacular, hidden waterfalls.

Itinerary

A 10 km hike on Cangshan Mountain in Dali, Yunnan province starting from a small farming village at 2000 metres above sea level. The hike takes us through terraced fields, tea plantations and along the edge of a dramatic river gorge to a beautiful alpine meadow at 2600 metres with hidden waterfalls and stunning views of Erhai Lake. From here we retrace our steps back down the mountain to the village, where our van will be waiting to take us back to Dali Old Town sometime between 4 and 5 pm.
