Listed as a World Heritage Site, the Dazu Rock Carvings are made up of 75 protected sites containing some 50,000 statues, with over 100,000 Chinese characters forming inscriptions and epigraphs.

3. Baodingshan Stone Carvings is about 13 kilometers away from Beishan Stone Carvings. It is a 30-minute drive. It is recommended to go to Baoding Mountain Stone Carvings first and then to Beishan Stone Carvings.

The Dazu Rock Carvings are a series of Chinese religious sculptures and carvings located in Dazu District, Chongqing, China. The carvings date back as far as the 7th century AD, depicting and influenced by Buddhist, Confucian and Taoist beliefs. Some are in rock-cut cave shrines, in the usual Chinese Buddhist style, but many others are rock reliefs carved into the open rock faces.

Baodingshan is a Buddhist site in Chongqing. The site is located on a limestone outcropping at an elevation of 500 meters, 15 kilometers north of the city of Dazu. The site has since been designated a World Heritage Site since 1999. During the Song Dynasty (960–1279 CE), this area of the Chengdu plain was considered one of the wealthiest regions in China.

Beishan Stone Carvings is located in Beishan, 1.5 kilometers north of Dazu City. The statue was first excavated in the first year (892) of Jingfu of the late Tang Dynasty. It took more than 250 years to complete.

Beishan Cliff is divided into two areas, north and south. There are more than 4,600 sculptures in existence, including a statue of 264 caves, an overcast figure, and 8 sutras, which are excellent representatives of the late Chinese cave art.
