It's a common saying that in order taste the true flavor of a place, do what locals do. In Shanghai, it's the early morning breakfast market. If you are an early riser or you have flown in from overseas and are waking early because of the time change, this is the perfect way to get out and do a little walking while getting to know more about the local Shanghai breakfast culture.

Your guide Cindy, will get off the beaten path to explore neighborhoods while enjoying the tasty food shoulder to shoulder with locals. We will also see the Wet Markets. Named because the floor tends to be wet, thanks to the live fish flopping around and the vendors' habit of throwing water on the ground to keep the area clean.

Along the way, you will wander through some of the urban alleys that many locals call home. It is fascinating to see what it is like for Cindy to live in this incredibly densely populated area. You end at your guide's home for a Gong-Fu Tea ceremony. You will leave with a new friend.

Stop At: Yuyuan Old Street, Houjia Road, Fangbang Middle Road, Huangpu District, Shanghai 200001 China

The tour will explore the 100 Year Old Shanghai area. It is just a short walk from the XIAONANMEN Metro Station. There we will walk around and visit the local markets and choose the fresh breakfast food from the local vendors. I will serve you a traditional Chinese tea ceremony.

I will meet at the train station and I will walk back with you.

Temple of the City Gods( Yu Garden) is a folk temple located in the old city of Shanghai.

It commemorates the elevation of Shanghai to municipal status and is the site of the veneration of three Chinese figures honored as the city gods of the town.

It is also known by some locals as the "Old City God Temple"
