Day Tour to explore Giant Buddha, Hot Pot & Sichuan Opera

08:00am in the morning, our guide and driver pick you up in the lobby in your hotel, it takes us about 2 hrs to drive to Leshan Giant Buddha . On the way to Leshan Giant Buddha, we may take a stop on the half way, where we can find a tea plantation , it is a good chance to have a soft walk to relax our legs before continuing our journey.

On arrival Leshan city, it is around 11:am, we firstly take a boat trip to visit the Buddha Statue on the river, which gives us a chance to see an overall view of the Buddha Statue. We may have a clear idea how massive the Buddha Statue is. The boat trip last about 30 minutes, after that we may have a lunch nearby.

After lunch, we drive about 15 minutes to the main gate of the Buddha.We can have a close look at the Buddha Statue by climbing up the hill, follow the stone steps up to the top of Lingyun Hill,we are able to see three rivers confluence in front of Giant Buddha, and the head of the Buddha Statue comes into our view. After taking a couple of pictures, then we descend along the red sand cliff to view the phenomenal Leshan Giant Buddha from his feet. We continue our walking along the river until we pass by a fish village, where we may find less tourists. And we also find the cliff burial area date back to 1000 years ago. From there, we cross a beautiful rainbow bridge, again we climb up a small hill for about 15 minutes to get to a peaceful temple, before walking down to meet our driver, we may uncover the peaceful Wuyou temple, located on the top of a small island, opposite the Giant Buddha Statue. Due to its unique location, it has very open river view and peaceful environment. It is very quiet temple since only the locals come here for praying, and we can visit one of the halls, where there are 500 hundred “Buddha Knights Statues” stand . Each of them stands for one story, definitely our guide will tell you some interesting stories about them.

Later we go back to downtown Chengdu and enjoy Sichuan’s spicy life by join in a local popular hot pot dinner. You will see how much the locals love the hot pot here, and you can even smell chilli everywhere . The last stop is to watch the amazing face change show in the theater, and then drive back to your hotel, the end of your day trip.
