Meet your guide and driver at your Chengdu hotel at 8am and proceed to the Sichuan Cuisine Museum in Pixian County. Relax on the scenic 1-hour drive from Chengdu city to reach Sichuan. Upon arrival at the Sichuan Cuisine Museum, meet your bilingual interpreter at the tourist center. First, visit the Classical Collection and Exhibition Hall, where you will gain insights into the evolution of Sichuan culinary culture. Afterwards, learn about the traditional manufacturing techniques for producing Pixian County fermented chili beans and chili powder by seeing a display of raw materials and tools. Taste samples of famous and traditional Sichuan snacks such as bean curd jelly and noodles made from rice flour.
At noon, a professional chef will show you how to make 3 authentic Sichuan dishes: Panda Steamed Dumplings, Kung Pao Chicken and Mapo Tofu. Enjoy a first-hand experience of Sichuan cuisine preparation including cutting skills, heat control and cooking processes. Experience the traditional dishes through sight, smell, taste and even touch. The head chef will comment on your dishes, demonstrate the correct way to eat Sichuan food and even grant you with a signed 'Rookie Master Chef' certificate after lunch. While enjoying the meal you have prepared, you will also be served with complimentary fruit, red wine and Chinese herbal alcohol.

In the afternoon, proceed to Chengdu Panda Breeding Reserve in the Futoushan Mountains of northern Chengdu. The sanctuary is not only the cozy home to giant pandas, but also red pandas, black-neck cranes and more. See a variety of lovely furry pandas of different ages eating bamboo, napping and playing with one another. Catch a glimpse of adorable baby pandas and see documents, photos and a film to learn about their development from pink mouse-sized babies to giant chubby adult pandas. At the conclusion of this fun and educational day tour, you will be transferred back to your hotel in Chengdu.
