Itinerary

Day 1: Laojun Mountains' Natural and Cultural Heritage Conservation and Sustainable Development - Day 1

Stop At: Yangtze River First Bend, Shasongbi Village, Shangri-La County 674400 China
We will have a short hike through a village and fruit tree gardens to a viewing spot on top of a small hill. Prepare for a breathtaking 180 degree view of one the most iconic and symbolic landscapes in China.
Duration: 1 hour

Stop At: Mt. Laojun Mountain National Geological Park ,Yulong Liming, Liming Village, Liming Country, Yulong County 674116 China
On our way up the mountain valley we will stop at Bai and Lisu Minority Villages to experience the local ways of life. When we reach our base deep in the primeval forest you will be welcomed by local nature conservation team members. They will take us for a 2-3 hour hike into the temperate rainforests of Laojun Mountains UNESCO "Three Parallel Rivers" Natural World Heritage. We will learn about their work and set up a few infrared camera traps for wildlife monitoring. Upon return to our base we will have a local home-made diner and a bonfire gathering with local artists to learn about the traditional Lisu minority instruments, music, songs and dance.
Duration: 12 hours

Meals included:
• Lunch: We'll try few traditional snacks at the local market and then go for proper lunch at one of the minority restaurants.
• Dinner: Traditional, home-made Lisu minority diner.
Accommodation included: It's time to rest now. Would you prefer to sleep in a private room, on bunk-beds or under a tent? Just tell us!

Day 2: Laojun Mountains' Natural and Cultural Heritage Conservation and Sustainable Development - Day 2

Stop At: Mt. Laojun Mountain National Geological Park ,Yulong Liming, Liming Village, Liming Country, Yulong County 674116 China
After the breakfast we will hike up the forests again to check our camera traps and complete a few natural science and conservation activities together with the wildlife conservation patrol members. Contact us for more details on the available activities! In the afternoon we say goodbye to Laojun Mountains and head back to Lijiang.
