China exploration will present a very special tour for you, a steam train tour in Jiayang Mine, close to Leshan giant Buddha. Steam train used to be the most important transportation tool in the 18th century as well as the symbol of industry revolution, but it has almost disappeared in the 21st century, and people can see it only in movie or museum now. But you can hardly believe that the steam train is still working as the only transportation tool connecting the villages with the outside world in the deep mountain of Leshan.

Itinerary

Day 1: Chengdu / Jiayang Steam Train Tour / Luocheng old town / Leshan

Stop At: 嘉阳小火车, Qianwei, Leshan, Sichuan, China
Your Chengdu tour starts in the early morning in order to catch the Jiayang steam train. China Exploration will drive you to Yaojin station of Qianwei county, about 2 hours’ driving from Chengdu, hope the wide Sichuan plain enroute would not make your trip boring.
It will be a life-standing memory to take this old style train, just imagine, the old steaming train running slowly in the waving mountain, and making exiting whistle and heavy smoke occasionally. Will you feel been drawing back to the 18th century? Of course, taking train is not all, you can also see some of old banner written in the cultural revolution in 1970’s, and enjoy the beautiful mountain en route. If you are lucky enough, you can catch the amazing season of Canola flower in March. The steaming train traveling in the yellow sea of cole flower makes up the most beautiful picture for photographers and painters.

Stop At: Luocheng Ancient Town, Northeast of Qianwei County, Qianwei County 614400 China
After the tour of train riding, you will head for Luocheng old town. Luocheng Old Street still remains in its original state of none tourism due to its out of beaten track of tourist. Although it is a very small street, it is impressive to watch local old people chatting and playing Chinese style bridge card in the tea house.
In the late afternoon, your guide will take you to Leshan and check in hotel.

Day 2: Leshan City / Leshan Giant Buddha /Jiajiang Qianfo Rock/Chengdu

Stop At: Leshan Giant Buddha (Da Fo), No.2435 Lingyun Street, Shizhong District, Leshan 614000 China
Get up in the early morning, directly go to Leshan Buddha Scenic Spot.
You will visit Linyun temple firstly, And then we will walk down the zigzagging trail along the trail in the left side of Buddha. The Buddha is a small mountain, from it is head to shoulder, and from leg to foot, about 30 minutes hiking. And then you need to hike up from its right side again. It is also a good place to view Leshan city cross the joint of Minjiang River, Dadu River and Qingyi River. And then you will walk about 30 minutes to Wuyou temple, where you can enjoy the statue of 500 Arhats.

Stop At: Jiajiang Qianfoyan Scenic Spot, West of Jiajiang County, Jiajiang County China
After lunch, your tour guide will take you to Visit the Thousand Buddhas Cliff in Jiajiang. Surrounded by mountains and rivers, here is like a fairyland, enjoying the reputation of the best place beside Qingyi River. There are total more than 2400 buddha statues, including all big and small statues. So it’s called Thousand Buhhdas Cliff. In this scenic, you also have a chance to visit Handcraft Paper Museum, just in the Thousand Buddhas Cliff Scenic Spot. One of the top ten professional museums in China, with rich collections and abundant pictures and texts, it vividly displays the long history of papermaking in jiajiang.
In the late afternoon you will return Chengdu.
