Giant Buddha are the most popular day trip in Chengdu,especially for the first-timers. Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding, was founded in 1987, started with 6 giant pandas that were rescued from the wild. By 2017, it had 146 pandas in total.It is a nice park fitting for people in all ages. I will show you the giant pandas' nursery, climb up the hill to see red pandas, and watch a short film in the cinema.
The Leshan Giant Buddha was built during the Tang Dynasty (618-907AD). It is carved out of a cliff located at the confluence of three rivers. It is the largest stone Buddha in the world and it is by far the tallest pre-modern statue in the world.

Itinerary

Day 1: Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding

Stop At: Giant Panda Breeding Research Base (Xiongmao Jidi), No.1375 Xiongmao Avenue the Outside Northern Third Ring Road, Chenghua District, Chengdu 610081 China
the best panda park in town where you can see different ages of pandas, there are different enclosures to explore. After visiting panda park, lunch will be arranged on the way to Leshan city.

Day 2: Leshan Giant Buddha

Stop At: Leshan Giant Buddha (Da Fo), No.2435 Lingyun Street, Shizhong District, Leshan 614000 China
The Leshan Giant Buddha was built during the Tang Dynasty (618-907AD). It is carved out of a cliff located at the confluence of three rivers. It is the largest stone Buddha in the world and it is by far the tallest pre-modern statue in the world. We will walk to the top of the Buddha and have a bird view on the mountain, visit a beautiful Buddhism temple on the way walking down. Drive back to Chengdu and stop by a local village.
