White Water Terrace (Baishuitai) is located in Sanba Township 100 kilometers (62 miles) from the Shangri-La county seat. Measuring 140 meters (about 459 feet) in length and 160 meters (about 525 feet) in width, it is one of the biggest such terraces in China. The terrace is covered by a layer of white deposits of calcium carbonate crystallized in the spring water. In addition to the spectacular terrace itself, visitors can also learn about the ethnic Naxi minority and folklore in the nearby Baidi village.

Tiger Leaping Gorge is the longest, deepest, and narrowest gorge in the world. Around 18 km(11.23 miles) in length, it is located at the upper reach of the Yangtze (Jinsha) river.

Tiger Leaping Gorge is a scenic canyon on the Jinsha River, a primary tributary of the upper Yangtze River. It is located 60 kilometres (37 mi) north of Lijiang City, Yunnan in southwestern China. It is part of the Three Parallel Rivers of Yunnan Protected Areas World Heritage Site.

At a maximum depth of approximately 3,790 meters (12,434 feet) from river to mountain peak, Tiger Leaping Gorge is one of the deepest and most spectacular river canyons in the world.

White Water Terrace (Bai Shui Tai) is located in the foothills of the Haba Snow Mountains, 101km (62 miles) southeast of Shangri-La. It is an ancient landform with a history of 200,000 to 300,000 years. The variegated landform of the tableland is a continual deposition of calcium carbonate that is contained in the spring water. Every year, the surface of the land is covered by the deposition and finally transformed into the terraced structure you see today.

Haba Snow Mountain is a mountain rising above the Mt. Everest due to Himalaya orogeny located in the southeast of Shangri-La. "Haba" means golden flower in Naxi language. Legend has it that Haba Snow Mountain and the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain is two brothers, the Jinsha River is flowing between them, thus forming the Tiger Leaping Gorge.
