Since 2009, the Coconuco biking trip has been departing almost every single day of the year and is now considered to be Colombia’s most popular (and longest running) biking trip. Our bikes are extremely well-maintained with hydraulic disc brakes, rapid-fire gearing, 120mm suspension forks and puncture-resistant tyres.  The trip includes bike rental, helmet rental, spare inner tube pump. We also include insurance with each of our trips.

Guests are collected from the Hosteltrail at 10am and driven to the indigenous mountain village of Cocouco (2,650m alt.) where they can bathe in the hot thermal waters. After a time in the springs, jump on the bikes and start the 30km leisurely ride back to the hosteltrail (1,700m alt). The route is mainly downhill on a paved road with very little traffic. This trip is designed for those with limited experience of cycling - there's no guide and so you can take as long as you wish to ride back to Popayan. This really is a great way to see some beautiful Colombian countryside, contribute to the development of an indigenous community and stretch your legs as well!
