Since 2014 over 15,000 people have joined us on the original Medellin Graffiti Tour. Take a journey through Comuna 13, once known as Colombia's most dangerous barrio. Join us to explore how street art has given Comuna 13 a bright and colorful new future.

Itinerary
This is a typical itinerary for this product

Pass By: Poblado, Medellin, Antioquia, Colombia

At Toucan Cafe you'll be met by the local bilingual guide. Well hop onto the metro at Poblado Station and head downtown switching to another Metro line at San Antonio. We'll finally arrive at San Javier where the tour really commences.

We'll start the experience here. After leaving San Javier station we'll be met by the local guide from Casa Kolacho. They are a urban collective who are responsible for creating the #Graffitour as a way to sponsor their community programs (art, music and dance classes for local youth).

Stop At: Escaleras Electricas De La Comuna 13, Carrera 110, Medellin Colombia

We'll ride the 384m outdoor electric escalators, equivalent to a 30-storey building. We'll stop at the top for a mango icecream a famous treat in Comuna 13. Along the way we'll hear more about the history and controversy surrounding the construction of the electric stairs.

Whilst walking through Comuna 13 the guide will point out significant pieces of graffiti and explain their relevance. The area is not just Medellin's largest free open air art gallery, each piece has a story to tell about the transformation of Medellin, politics and the importance of community. The guides are from Comuna 13 and if you're lucky you might get to see some graffiti in progress, experience some breakdance or they might just rap some hip hop for you.
