Ruta del Roble - Community Ecotourism

In company with the rural inhabitants you will discover unique landscapes of red waters, prehistoric trees, Andean forests and moors where the Andean spectacled bear travels, you will visit orchids with more than 90 species of orchids and a unique collection of miniature varieties. All the experience is led by local farmers who have created this route as a way to conserve and restore the strategic forests of oaks and moor systems, also throughout the Oak Route you will feed with organic products, produced by ourselves, completely fresh and according to our local culture.

Itinerary

Day 1: Knowing Charalá and Virolin

Stop At: Museo del Algodon y el Lienzo de la Tierra, Calle 23 15, Charala 682551 Colombia
Share with the women leaders who have recovered the craft of the Guane indigenous fabric and other Amerindian techniques in their workshops and museum.
Duration: 1 hour

Stop At: Charalá Main Park, Charalá, Charala, Santander, Colombia
A brief tour of recognition of this small town, cradle of freedom, Cultural and Historical Heritage of Colombia. Then we will leave for Virolin, where you will walk through the Aguacos forest, to see the variety of ferns (scientific name: Cyatheaceae) that evoke the Mesozoic era. In the middle of this prehistoric landscape you can discover the rivers of red waters, which are pure and have antioxidant properties due to the tincture of the tannin of the oaks. You will know the orchids of the area with a unique display of species and miniature orchids. Then we will leave for the sidewalk the drill of the municipality of Gámbita.

• Lunch: In a rural inn in the Virolín de Charalá village
• Dinner: On the sidewalk El Drill of Gámbita and an integration to the heat and light of the fire with an impressive blanket of stars

Day 2: From the Drill to the Moor Russia

Stop At: Páramo De La Rusia, Veredas el Carmen y Avendaños,, Duitama, Boyacá, Colombia
It all starts with a trail at dawn in the Drill, to prepare for the ascent to the moor, then at the Guanentá Alto Río Fonce Flora and Fauna Sanctuary we will explore frailejones forests, sow a few and visit the moors of the moors while we learn their benefits for our ecosystems and how to conserve them. In the end we will go to the pure dairy factories for their silvopastoral processes and we will stay in rural inns

Day 3: Oak and dream forests

Stop At: Páramo De La Rusia, Veredas el Carmen y Avendaños,, Duitama, Boyacá, Colombia
This day is filled with magic when visiting the paths of the oak forests, upholstered by multicolored mosses, full of enchanting flora and fauna. This moment is to connect with the deepest of our being and balance it with nature in a unique experience of contemplation and share with the affection of the local inhabitants, transforming the trip into an unforgettable experience. At the end of the day you will undertake the return to Charalá to depart to your place of origin
