Itinerary
This is a typical itinerary for this product

Stop At: Salento, Salento, Quindio Department

Description:
The Machín Volcano is a perfect adventure if you want to travel through Colombia looking for different and unique experiences. The volcano is a deceptive mountain because of its silent and quiet appearance, but El Machín is listed as one of the most dangerous volcanoes in Colombia having passed to Orange Warning in January 2011, an alert that forced the evacuation of 512 people living on its slopes and around.

Walk with us on the top of this volcano at an altitude of 2750 meters, followed by a well-deserved rest in the Natural Thermal Pool the perfect combination for those with only 1 day to explore this area of stunning natural beauty.

Itinerary:
At 6:00 am, our day begins by boarding a typical transport of the Jeep Willys region, taking the road that starts in the direction of the National Road (road line, road that links between Salento and the department of Tolima).

The vehicle takes us in the middle of natural landscapes of the region that used to be from potato farming to a farm called La Carbonera 28 Kilometers after leaving Salento, where we can appreciate the forests of Palmas de Cera, our national tree, reaching half Tomorrow at the farm the crosses 3 Km after the Carbonera farm where you take a path within a Palmas forest, where you can see the entire landscape and the different stages of palm growth in its natural environment (surrounded by forest native). This tour takes approximately 50 minutes ending with a typical snack from the region called Agua panela con Queso.

Already with the energies recharged after the delicious panela water with cheese we embark on our way to the base of the Machín Volcano where we will leave the vehicle and start the ascent to the top of the Machín Volcano visiting the place called Laguna Seca where we can appreciate the family that lives literally inside the Volcano, you can also see the different areas known as fumaroles, places where the volcano breathes and smoke leaves the earth.

After descending we will get to know the Hot Springs product of the high internal temperatures of the volcano followed by a delicious peasant lunch which we will rest to undertake the return to Salento around 7:00 pm.
