Travel to Cocuy with transportation from Bogotá

During your experience you can visit El Cocuy and more than 12 villages of Boyacá with its main squares, you will stay in a typical hotel in El Cocuy and in the company of a local guide you will walk for more than 8 hours to one of the snow edges of this National Park.

Itinerary

Day 1: Trekking (hiking) - Acclimatization in Duitama

Stop At: Pueblito Boyacense, Vereda Tocogua, Duitama, Boyaca, Colombia. Calle 29 # 26 - 75, Boyaca Colombia
We will pick you up at 06:00 am at your hotel in Bogotá, from there we will go to the transport terminal to take the bus to Duitama, 10:00 am we will arrive at the terminal to head towards our acclimatization walk, through the Municipal Natural Reserve (Trail Andalusia), in the Pan de Azúcar Páramo, we will know the importance of Los Frailejones for El Ecosistema and we will see some lagoons, we will be able to observe bird species and different waterfalls, we will reach 3,750 meters above sea level.
We will return to Duitama, take a shower and enter the Pueblito Boyancese, where we can see the representation of different villages in Boyacá, their traditions, the facades of the houses.
Dinner will be free, additional you can take a relaxing bath in the spa that is in Pueblito Boyacense, while 10:00 pm arrives to start our tour to the town of El Cocuy, in a 6-hour journey.

Day 2: Arrival to the village El Cocuy - Citytour in the village.

Stop At: Nevado del Cocuy, Sierra nevada del cocuy, Boyaca, Colombia, Sur America, Guican Colombia
We will arrive at Cocuy around 6:00 am, we will check in at the National Park office and we will receive an introduction talk to the protected area, the selection of the trail for our next day's walk will depend on the carrying capacity of each route. The options are: Sugar Loaf, White Ritacuba, Concave.
We will make a tour of the town El Cocuy in the company of the local guide association, visit the Museum of the route of La Sal and meet some artisan women, where we can buy locally. If you prefer, this day we can include an optional walk near the town, about 2 hours.
The day will be calm for you to rest, connect with the people. We will spend the night in a typical hotel, private accommodation.

Day 3: Trekking to the snowy edge of the Sugar Loaf

Stop At: Nevado del Cocuy, Sierra nevada del cocuy, Boyaca, Colombia, Sur America, Guican Colombia
We will start very early with breakfast at 5:00 AM, from there we will go on the transport to the starting point of the walk according to the allowed path.
At the beginning of the walk we can find a variety of representative flora of the Páramo and El Bosque, we will find places with more intense ascents and then calm down while we observe the snowy peaks, we will reach the snow edge of the "Sugar Loaf" or "Ritakuwa" one of the most dreamy snowy peaks of mountaineers in Colombia. Once there, we will connect to the stage, take lunch on the march and rest a little. We will return to the town of Cocuy around 07:00 pm and we will have dinner at the hotel.

Day 4: Hot springs of Güican de la Sierra

Stop At: Sierra Nevada del Cocuy, El Cocuy Vereda Jordan, Snow, Climbing, Camping, Uwa, Indigenas, Guican Colombia
After having breakfast, we will start the journey back to Duitama, but first we will stop at Los Termales de Güican de la Sierra to relax. Then we will continue our trip to the municipality of Guacamaya, a colorful town where we can have a craft show in the workshop, on the return we will know the main squares of more than 8 towns in Boyacá. We will arrive in Duitama around 7pm and take public transportation to Bogotá.
