5-Day Galapagos Diving Tour: Accommodation and Full-Day Diving Excursions

This Galapagos Diving tour works perfectly for travelers with minimal time but who are still in for some fine diving. This short but comprehensive land-based Galapagos diving tour itinerary extends for five days and includes scuba diving on various spots around Santa Cruz Island, plus an excursion to the highlands at the opening and a free day at the end on the tour to visit the Charles Darwin Station or Tortuga Bay independently. The dive trip includes all equipment and transportation to the diving sites.

Itinerary

Day 1: Santa Cruz Island – Highlands

Pass By: Santa Cruz Island, Ecuador
Upon your arrival at Baltra Airport, transfer to Santa Cruz Island to visit the Highlands. See giant tortoises in their natural habitat, catch sight of Galapagos finches, bird wizards, and endemic vegetation such as Escelacias forests and Matazarnos. Return to Puerto Ayora and go to the Dive Center to try on diving gear and receive a briefing for the next day.

Day 2: Full-day diving (B, L)

Pass By: Santa Cruz Island, Ecuador
Meet at the Dive Center in the early morning and hear final instructions before departing via sea and land to the diving site. Your first immersion goes 65-82 feet (20-25 meters) deep. Surface for one hour for snacks and lunch; then dive again at a depth of 50-75 feet (15-23 meters). Depending on the dive site, you may observe sea lions, Galapagos sharks, white tip reef shark, hammerhead shark, mobulas, turtles, reef fishes, sting rays, eagle rays, Galapagos eel, barracudas, sea horses, barracudas, sea lions, variety of invertebrates and coral walls. Return to Puerto Ayora around 4:30pm.

Day 3: Full-day Diving (B, L)

Pass By: Santa Cruz Island, Ecuador
Meet at the Dive Center in the morning and do two more dives at new sites, with a similar structure to the previous day. Return to Puerto Ayora around 4:30pm.

Day 4: Santa Cruz Island (B)

Pass By: Santa Cruz Island, Ecuador
Free day. Explore Santa Cruz on your own. You can visit Charles Darwin Station, Tortuga Bay in the afternoon, or do a navigable tour. A guided excursion around Santa Cruz is also available at an extra cost (arranged upon request).

Day 5: Goodbye Galapagos (B)

Pass By: Seymour Airport, Aeropuerto Seymour de Baltra, Isla Baltra Baltra, Ecuador
Transfer out to Seymour Airport on Baltra (Visit 'The Twins' on the way out, if time allows).
