Ecuador and Galapagos Community Service 25 Days

25 Day Ecuador and Galapagos Community Service Program for teens who want to spend a big part of their summer exploring remote destinations such as the Galapagos Islands while helping orphans, painting schools and planting trees as community service projects.

The ideal age for this trip is from 13 to 17. This a group tour, our travel director with chaperons will meet participants at major hub airports in the United States to begin the journey, be with them 24/7 and return the same way. Our programs are safe, educational and fun!

ITINERARY

Day 1

​Fly to Quito

Overnight in Quito

Day 2

Full day Quito City Tour including the Old Town City, Panecillo view point, Mitad del Mundo, Intinan museum, and Pululahua crater.

Day 3

Begin your Community Service in the Orphanage center.

Day 4

Return to continue working at the Orphanage.

Last day of community service in the orphanage.

Day 7

Travel to the Andes region, home to the Cotopaxi volcano, the highest active volcano in the world.​

Continue south and get to the Quilotoa lake, a picturesque old extinct volcano, hike for 3 hours.

Day 8

Continue working at the local school.

Return to the hotel for a bonfire in the evening.

Day 9

Journey to the Amazon Rain Forest. The scenic drive where you will see drastic landscape changes takes 6 hours with various stops along the way.

Arrive at the Napo river bank and take a motor canoe to the Hotel. Check in and get ready for your night excursion.

Meet with the community leader for an overview about the community service projects.

Day 10

Take a canoe ride with a local tour guide to visit an animal rescue center.

Take a refreshing river tube ride followed by lunch and begin your community service work.

Day 11

Continue with your community service work in the morning. Afterwards, you have time to swim and hike in the jungle.

Return to the hotel for lunch.

In the evening, members from the community will come to the hotel to present to you their dance, music and food.

Scenic drive to Baños, a city for adventure and fun.

Day 13

White-water rafting adventure.

At night enjoy karaoke.

Day 14

Today you will explore and hike to the most beautiful waterfalls including the Pailon del Diablo.

Travel back to Quito.

Otavalo indigenous experience.

Travel to Otavalo Poncho Plaza market, the most colorful indigenous market for shopping followed by a visit to the family for food, music, dance and music.

Day 17

Fly to the Galapagos Islands

Meet your naturalistic guides and go to Tijeretas for a refreshing snorkel activity after the introduction to the history and formation of the Islands.

Day 18

Begin your work at the school, we will continue working on the playground improvements and sharing with students by playing basketball and soccer.

Continue working on the school and enjoy the evening in Playa Mann within walking distance from your hotel.

Navigate to Santa Cruz Island. Upon arrival visit the Charles Darwin Center. ​

Galapagos giant tortoises viewing, not turtle, tortoise. Your naturalistic tour guide will share more interesting information. Begin your reforestation project.

Return to the reforestation location

Tortuga Bay hike, a white sanded beach where you will be able to play sports, or do kayak.
